After reading a note that he wrote 10 years prior, 29 year old Tzafrir realizes that he didn't fulfill any of the dreams he had for himself when he was young.
Just before his 30th birthday he decides to fulfill his childhood dream and drive through Israel on an electric toy car.
With the hope of understanding what he wants to do with his life, he goes on the journey across the country and meets people that give their perspective on what it means to grow up.

Director Biography
Adam Rabinowitz
Adam was born in South Africa in 1985 and moved to Israel at 7. While travelling in Africa he realized that he wants to make Documentaries. When he returned to Israel he started studying film at Minshar, where he discovered his love for cinematography and directing.
Roi Maoz
Roi studied film in Kibutzim college of education. Directed the film "Sheikh Mourad which recieved the David Perlov Grant. Assistant director to Danny Menkin in the making of the documentaries 77:78 which aired on channel 8 and the feature film "Is that you".
Cover letter
This is our first feature film. We've always loved watching road trip films in which the main character has a life changing experience, so it was only natural for us to want to make a documentary film in that genre.

Film "Closer to Maarten"

It is 1999 when Dutchman Maarten de Bruijn, still in his twenties, decides to make a journey through India. At first, everything seems to go well, as he sends letters on a regular basis in which he writes enthusiastically about India and the things he is experiencing along the way.
But after three letters, the writing stops and his family fears the worst. Not without reason, because they have never heard from Maarten again. Until this day, he is still missing.
Maarten's younger brother Hein never came to terms with this and 15 years after Maarten's last sign of life, he decides to make the same journey as his beloved brother did in 1999. To find closure to this tragic situation and to find peace with his brother's faith. Guided by Maarten's letters and some new facts, he follows the same track as his brother did years earlier.

Raymond Grimbergen is a filmmaker from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. After working for many years for some famous Dutch (documentary) television shows, he now produces, directs, shoots and edits his own films, both fiction and non-fiction. WIth his first long documentary, Closer to Maarten, he now aims for an international market for this compelling and emotional story.

Olivier, Elise and Marine just finished their 6th year of their medical studies. Next year, they will begin their residency and they will be confronted to their professional life. But before taking the plunge, they decide to step back a little bit.
They are going on an initiatory journey around the Mediterranean sea, where big civilisations have developed the medicine we know today.
The three future doctors will cross Italy, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and Egypt to meet practicians of alternative medicine.
Through their reflection, their meetings and some trip anecdote, this road movie is an opportunity to ask ourselves about our current medical practices. Will this journey change their futur practice ?

Director Biography
Rémi Rappe & Sylvain Diserens
After studying biology at the University of Bordeaux (France), Rémi traveled a lot. Quickly, he wanted to retransmit in images his visual, social and naturalistic experiences. He then naturally turned to IFFCAM (International Wildlife Film School in France) where he made his first two documentaries. It was in this school that he met Sylvain Diserens, the co-director of the film.
After studying biology at the University of Bordeaux (France), Rémi traveled a lot. Quickly, he wanted to retransmit in images his visual, social and naturalistic experiences. He then naturally turned to IFFCAM (International Wildlife Film School in France) where he made his first two documentaries. It was in this school that he met Sylvain Diserens, the co-director of the film.
Born in Châtel-St-Denis, in Switzerland, Sylvain live during his 20 first years in the swiss mountain. He then joins his interest for the nature and for the science by studying biology in Fribourg University.
Since Sylvain and Rémi have done their master degree in IFFCAM, they have been shooting abroad as a camera operator. With their complementarity, they directed together Pathway to health.
